To listen to the lectures, click on a title and it should open in your computer's audio player.

Gwynn Williams wrote the first article, he was minister of Bethlehem Evangelical Church, Sandfields, Aberavon, at the time of writing in 1981. Under the title 'A Physician for Aberavon' he briefly describes Martyn Lloyd-Jones' arrival in Aberavon and recounts some of the highlights of his ministry there. These highlights include one 18-month period of 'exceptional unction' upon the ministry, such that the chapel became too small to hold all those who wanted to hear the Doctor preach.

The second article,
Taken Away to Glory, was written by Hugh D. Morgan and describes the reaction of people in Wales when the news spread on that Sunday, 28 years ago. He then shifts his attention to the following Friday and gives a moving account of the funeral service, and some of the feelings that members of the congregation experienced as they sang the hymns and heard the tributes to this 'great leader'.

Among the congregation that day were a large number of ministers of the gospel who had received much help and inspiration from the Doctor's ministry.

The third article, October 1966, describes the Doctor's speech to the National Assembly of Evangelicals held in 1966, at Westminster Hall. As he had been requested to do, the Doctor spoke passionately about the Church within the context of the ecumenical movement and he obviously set his audience a significant challenge! He urged them to discern when division was over basic points of doctrine, and when it was a matter of preserving denominations.

Although it describes events that took place more than 40 years ago now, this article has tremendous relevance for Christians today.

We hope that you find these articles interesting and beneficial.
